Using Tarsier
Events & goals
Pageviews tell you where people go. Events tell you what they did when they got there — signups, purchases, downloads, button clicks.
Track an event
From anywhere after initialization:
Tarsier.trackEvent({ name: "signup" });

Tarsier.trackEvent({ name: "purchase", data: "plan=pro" });Names are free-form but permanent-ish: pick something you will still understand in a year, like signup_completed rather than btn-click-7.
Promote it to a goal
- Open the Events card on your dashboard.
- Find the event under “seen but not goals” and add it, or type the name into the goal box.
- Completions and conversion rates appear next to your traffic from then on.
Events are the difference between “12,000 people visited” and “214 people signed up.” Track the second thing.
